The coaches who will lead this team are:
Jodi Laug |
Coach Laug returns for her 3rd season as head coach with the Tigard Blast.
Jodi has an extensive background in softball. She grew up playing travel softball in Southern California, was a standout player for her high school and went to Illinois State on a full softball scholarship. She started every year there, including as a true freshman. She was named player of the week and 1st team all MVC conference her sophomore year. She is also an assistant varsity coach for 6A state champion Tigard High School. Coach Laug believes in teaching the girls the fundamentals of the game while also having fun and instilling a love of the game. She sets high expectations for her team and players. Her team has realized phenomenal improvement and growth both individually and as a team. |
Kerri Esser |
Coach Esser is returning for her second year coaching with Blast.
Keri grew up in Beaverton playing multiple sports at Beaverton High School, including softball. She went on to play D2 college softball at the University of North Dakota, where she earned a degree in physical therapy. It is all about the players for coach Keri - connecting and helping the team become a unit who supports one another no matter what. Keri is looking forward to another year of Blast softball! |
KiLey Richeson |
Coach KiLey Richeson is new to the Blast program and is excited to be a part of it. She has coaching experience at every level from t-ball all the way through high school.
KiLey grew up playing competitive softball in the Pacific Northwest and played 2 years of college ball in Colorado. She ended her high school career with winning back to back state championships with Dayton High School. Her focus for this season is developing the whole player. Positive attitudes and hard work are everything. |
Ryan Siegel |
Coach Siegel returns for his 3rd season coaching the 12u team. Ryan also coaches the 16u team, was previously the President of Keizer Little League and coached softball through Keizer LL for several years. He is also Vice President of Blast.
Ryan believes it is his job as coach to help the girls have fun, learn the game, teach good sportsmanship and team play - all of which results in positive life lessons. He is not a coach to yell or scream at players for making mistakes. Instead he believes in correcting the mistake in a positive way. Ryan believes the best way for the girls to learn to the best of their abilities is to have brief verbal instruction and high volumes of repetitions to practice the correct method. |
