Coaches Mike Weston and Mike Berent head into their 5th year coaching together with Tigard Blast Fastpitch. Prior to making the jump to club softball the duo was coaching softball and baseball with Tigard Little League.

As with all Blast teams the coaching duo continue to promote a positive growth mindset and opportunities for our emerging players to learn and excel at the game of softball. Our team and teaching methods prepare our players for the challenges they face on the field and in life.

We are a very competitive team that works together to lift all our players to a higher level. Our philosophy is that everyone deserves to play. When possible we will bat the roster and rotate players into positions, but when it comes to Sunday Bracket play we put our best foot forward and will most likely establish a set roster with 9 players and DP/Flex. We will use substitutes to ensure all players have an opportunity to play. Everyone has a chance to rise in the ranks of the depth chart, through proven success and efforts both in practice and in the game.

We believe in maintaining a positive attitude on and off the field. We expect our players to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. We are out here to learn the nuances of the game and promote a positive atmosphere that encourages a growth mindset. We also recognize that mistakes, errors, and slumps are part of the game, and while these may be frustrating at times we know that through those mistakes there is an opportunity for coaching and growth.
