Tigard High School
As a feeder program to the Tigard HS softball program the Blast is fortunate to have access to the Varsity and JV fields. The Varsity field was recently upgraded to AstroTurf. This gives us invaluable opportunities to practice with less than perfect weather. The soon to be finished Hitting Barn will provide our girls another facility where coaches can work with them on hitting mechanics and where the girls can get large volumes of swings in a controlled environment.
Through our partnership with a local community organization the Blast is extremely fortunate to have access to Hansen Field. We use Hansen for team practices, as well as position specific work for our pitchers and catchers.
Indoor Hitting Facility
The opportunity to work indoors when the weather is bad is invaluable for the development of our players. The Tigard Blast’s indoor hitting facility features a full length cage, pitching machine and five hitting stations (tees). This allows our coaches the ability to fine tune our girl’s hitting mechanics, and for the girls to get tons of repetitions with the bat. We are also able to use the space for limited fielding work, as well as to give our pitchers and catchers dedicated practice time.
